This picture holds special significance for Peter:

1. JB 3854 is the first "Cream Cracker" PA to be discovered by Steve Dear who one of the founder members of the British Triple-M Register in 1962. Steve was an influential motivator in our local group of MG enthusiasts who researched the historical significance of the trials cars and teams. He kindled our interest in M.G. history. (Incedentally Steve's son in named Kim).

2. I have been a passenger (bouncer) for Steve in this car. I also have vivid memories of getting it home after a water leak developed in the engine at an annual Silverstone Race Meeting.

3. For the 1934 season, the successful J2 team of 1933 were "supposed" to migrate to the new 1934 PA Midget. Jack Bastock was not happy with JB 3854 and continued to use a J2 between his team mates in PAs, namely Maurice Toulmin and R.A. Macdermott. Bastock took over his business partner Archie Langley's J2 until his PA was "sorted out". Langley's J2 had been a very suuccessful trials car in the 1933 season. Bastock's interim J2 was J2594 which we own today and is the subject of another branch of this web site.

We will see PA0255 and J2594 reunited again in America.
